Jenna turns 1

Studio Party Shoot

This weekend we had our first Studio Party. It was a great success and everyone loved it! The children had a blast and the moms relaxed, chatted and had tea and cake.

When the children arrived, they first chose the props they would like to use. The hats
and the boas were definitly the favourites.
After a 45min shoot, with the music blaring and the girls acting silly. They sang Happy Birthday and had their cooldrink and snacks. Did you see Kirstyn's birthday cake? I want one!
Then it was time for crafts. The girls got creative and they all decorated their frames so beautifully. While I was busy helping witht the crafts, Patrick was editing and printing the photographs. The girls got to go home with a group photo in their frames. I think its a dream party for any girl!

Model / Boudoir Photoshoots

Professional photoshoots are becoming more and more popular at the moment.

Like many women we always think we are not slim enough or beautiful enough but it is for your photographer to bring out your beauty, to make you shine. A little photoshop also never hurts. If the celebrities can, why can't we?

Before arriving at the studio you should decide on the kind of theme you would like, fashion, fun, vintage, glam or boudoir.

If you have decided on a shoot with friends try and co-ordinate the theme. Having a photoshoot with friends also relaxes you.

Bright colours come out really well against the white studio backdrop, so try to avoid white, or pastel colours. Bring a couple of different outfits.

Accessories should also be bigger and bolder than what you would wear in real life. The shoot is all about fun. Be playful!

Boudoir shoots have also become a firm favourite with the ladies as gifts for their partners. It could be a bride to be who wants a wedding present for her husband or it could be an anniversary present. Sometims for no other reason other than "I feel good!" These shoots make great coffee table books.

Posing is probably the bit most people are nervous about. It's difficult to know what looks good and what looks unnatural when you're under the bright lights.
I will be able to tell you what to do and what works, but it's also a good idea to have brainstormed a few potential shots before your shoot. Magazines are always a good reference. Even bring along some pictures. Some of your best photos will be spur of the moment ideas.

The most important thing is that you have fun , this will reflect well in your photographs.
Book and I will be Shooting you soon!

Welcome to our new Studio!

Welcome to Jilda G Photographic Studios.
Patrick and I have decided to go into a new business together. We have built the studio from scratch and I am really excited to share this post with you.
We will be doing all kinds of photography, maternity, newborn, couples, family, lifestyle, boudoir and PARTIES!
Patrick will be involved with the canvas prints, editing, the making up of photobooks and he will also be shooting when I am not available. Patrick, last year published a pictorial guide book and he did all the photography himself and is a rather keen photographer.
What I am really excited about introducing are the Studio Parties. I don't know of anyone who does this so its going to be fun and exciting.
The parties are targeted at all ages from 7-70 years old. Its all about having a fun time. It could be for your birthday, hen party, baby shower or just a group of friends or colleagues who want to have a fun time.
The party will consisit of a 45 min shoot with good music and lots of props, let your hair down or wear a wig!
If it is a childrens party, after the shoot there will be craft time, where they will decorate a photo frame. By the time their craft making is done, we will cut cake and sing. By the end of the party your photos will be edited and all your guests will leave with a group photo for their frame.
The host will receive the photos on a Cd and the other parents can view the pics on this blog.
Of course the parties will be age appropriate, so if you not keen to decorate a frame, you can have high tea, decorate cupcakes or make some cocktails if you plan on going out later.
The choices are endless.....
Book your shoot!
